Nail Biting Hypnosis
in Rhode Island and Massachusetts

ARE YOU A HOPELESS
ONYCHOPHAGIAIST?

An onychophagiaist is someone who habitually bites his or her nails. Yes, it is usually thought of as a kid problem. But for many adults, nail-biting is so well-established that they barely realize they are doing it.

The problem? Nail-biting looks bad to others. People see a nail biter as nervous and unsure of themselves. Plus in this germ-conscious world, no one wants to shake hands with someone who’s just put his or her fingers in their mouth. As a former nail-biter myself, I know exactly what you are going through.

Sadly, nail biting is often a very difficult habit to break for adults.

As a hypnotherapist, I treat nail biting  as a sign of stress and nervousness that has the added dimension of being a habit that provides emotional relief.  It is approached in a manner similar to my stop smoking and weight loss programs utilizing Transformational Hypnotism and HypnoCoaching™.   The nail biter is hypnotized to feel generally calmer and more confident. The nail biting habit is hypnotically removed and a new positive habit is inserted as a replacement. E-mail coaching is provided between sessions.

I typically help nail biters become free in 2-3 sessions. The sessions are relaxing and can also make a difference in the client's overall sense of confidence and well-being.
